The lake was made when the hydropower plant SD 2 was built. The total surface of the district is 420ha. Boating and bird watching are always a possibility here -. due to largness of the lake the number of birds is high and constant throughout the year.The lake is pretty muddy in some parts-except in the middle where the Drava's channel runs through it.
