The fishing family Medvode manages six breeding streams ( the Ločnica, the Prešnica, the Malešnica, the Babešnica, the Grabnarica and thr Mavelščica) where they regularly  breed  young brown trouts and then transfer them into their home rivers the Sava and the Sora.  Both rivers are ,due to exquisite care and long term management, rich not only in brown trouts but in graylings, barbels, chubs and other cyprinids as well. These waters are home to some predatory fish ,too, mainly to pikes and huchens.  Besides flowing waters the family offers the pond Šmartno, too. Due to vicinity of the fishing lodge the first class fish are being nicely taken care of. The managing area of the family is divided into three districts: the pond Šmartno and the rivers Sava and Sora. Headquarters of the RD are on the address Šmartno 90 LJ-Šmartno and its working hours are on every first and third Thursday of the month : during summertime from 18 to 19hrs; in winter from 17 to 18 hrs.
