The creek Mošenik springs in the neighbourhood of the mountain passage Ljubelj and is approximately 9600m long. It is home mostly to brown trouts.

It used to be only a breeding creek for brown trouts (even genetically pure ones) which consequently means that it has some first class specimens of brown trouts because it has been forbidden to fish in it untill now.

You can only fish in catch and release style in this district! It is meant for the fishermen that desire to catch some first class specimens and then return them into the water.  It is allowed to fish with one fly fish rod and one artificial fly only and it is mandatory to use barbless hooks or hooks with barbs pressed.

The fishing part of the creek that spreads from the dam near ex -slaughterhouse (approximately 50m upstream from the local community Ravne,Pot na Zali Rovt 3) to the barrier at the bridge in Balos is otherwise short one but ideal for recreative fishing and also suitable for older lovers of fly fishing.
