In the whole district you can fish with fly rod and one artificial fly . Spin fishing is FORBIDDEN from the old stone bridge in the old city centre of Vipava to the outflow of the river Hubelj. Spin fishing is allowed with spoon lure nr.4 or higher and with plugs bigger than 7 cm, using one triple hook with barbs pressed. Use only barbless hooks or hooks with pressed barbs! Extra weight (split shot) on the mono is not allowed.

The river Vipava: it is allowed to fly fish from theold stone bridge in the old city centre of Vipava to the dam in Kasovlje (the border with RD Renče). The area where you can spin fish extends from the outflow of the river Hubelj to the dam in Kasovlje (the border with RD Renče). The river Hubelj : from the bridge on highway to the outflow into the river Vipava.

On the part of the river Vipava from the outflow of the old channel Mlinščica to the outflow of the river Hubelj we have CATCH AND RELEASE SYSTEM. The district is marked accordingly ( signs). It is forbidden to take the fish home and is absolutely neccesary to return it to water unharmed. The fisherman has no right to have any caught fish on himself here( even if he did catch it in the allowed part of the river).
