The creek Lipnica is the Sava's first tributary on the right side after the confluence of the Sava Bohinjka and the Sava Dolinka. It flows into the Sava in the vicinity of the village Ovsiše. The creek accummulates its waters on the northeast slopes of the plateau Jelovica, from which three major creeks flow into the Lipnica.

The biggest carp ever in Slovenia - record holder 34,60kg - caught and released in November 2013. The lake offers some first class catches of carps - some may weigh over 30 kg - as well as possibility of fishing for some fairytale catfish.
